Oncological surgery

Holographic representation of cancerous lesions helps to accelerate surgery planning, reduce surgery time, the possibility of reducing confusion due to natural depth perception, and faster localization of cancerous lesions. Examples of cancer surgery procedures using CarnaLife Holo: removal of liver cancer with NanoKnife, removal of pancreatic cancer with liver metastasis (NanoKnife) or thermoablation of liver tumors.

Orthopaedics

3D augmented reality holography in orthopaedics supports doctors with surgery preparation and during the procedure. The doctor can interact with the hologram using gestures and voice commands, preventing loss of sterility in the room. CarnaLife Holo has been used during the following orthopaedic procedures: anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, anterior hip acetabular replacement, foot reconstruction and ankle endoprosthesis insertion.

Laryngology

3D augmented reality imaging helps the daily work of ENT surgeons by: the ability to move and place the hologram anywhere in the room, interaction with the hologram using gestures and voice commands, no loss of sterility during interaction with the hologram, independent data verification, reduced procedure time, reduced procedure planning, increased patient safety during surgery, reduced blood loss, reduced likelihood of infection in the patient. CarnaLife Holo has been used in the following types of procedures: surgery to remove ossification of the wedge sinus, procedure planning, localization of lesions.

Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology

3D augmented reality holography in cardiology and interventional cardiology helps doctors in planning and during the procedure. The doctor has the ability to place the hologram anywhere in the operating room without losing its sterility. The technology enables real-time data transfer from the echocardiograph. CarnaLife Holo has helped doctors during procedures such as closure of the Botall’s duct, stent graft implantation for abdominal aortic aneurysm, ASD, PFO, left atrial appendage closure, Basilica procedure and MitraClip implementation.
