On November 18, 2021, a mitral valve seal surgery using MitraClip (without opening the chest) and CarnaLife Holo took place. The procedure was performed at the University Clinical Hospital in Opole, by a team led by dr. hab. n. med. Jerzy Sacha.
Three-dimensional visualization of imaging diagnostic data of the heart was used in planning and throughout the procedure. As the sterility of the room was not compromised, physicians were able to use the CarnaLife Holo technology unobstructed throughout the procedure and observe the injection sites closely.
“With the unique CarnaLife Holo technology, developed by the Polish company MedApp, we obtained holographic images of the inside of the heart, which were used during the MitraClip valve repair procedure without opening the chest,” explains cardiologist dr. hab. med. Jerzy Sacha and adds: “I can say that the technology of 3D visualization of diagnostic data is the future. We should all give it a try and invest in holography experience.
